Meter Governance (MTRG) is a basic PoS asset for managing a hybrid PoW/PoS blockchain network. DeFi application developers can use the coin in two ways: as a layer 1 programmable infrastructure with MTR as a secure medium of exchange and as a sidechain to ensure scalability and interaction between crypto assets.

With this proposal on gas monetization, we aim to promote two key metrics of Meter Network adoption – Transaction Volume and User base.
The gas monetization incentive program will reimburse a portion of all gas fees incurred on the Meter Network by the dApps smart contracts
Key Beneficiaries: Builders/ Developers contributing to the GameFI and NFT ecosystem on the Network.
Eligibility: DAPP should be deployed on Meter Network for >1 month

Forum Discussion: MIP: Meter Network Gas Reduction
This improvement proposal on gas monetization aims to reduce gas costs on Meter Network to propel broader adoption of the network – especially the GameFI and NFT ecosystem.
The Proposal: The proposal states reduction in gas fees on Meter Network from current minimum of 500 GWEI to a minimum of 100 GWEI.
The gas reduction from minimum 500 GWEI to minimum 100 GWEI will follow a review period of 3 months to gauge the impact on transaction volume and GameFI, NFT adoption. Any further change will follow the governance process.
Key Beneficiaries: GameFI, NFT ecosystem – Developers and Users
Network Analysis: The reduction in gas price will make Meter Network 0.4x cheap than Polygon (at average Gas over last year of 193 GWEI) and 0.03x as cheap than gas costs on BSC (at average Gas over last year of 7 GWEI)
